Co-Founder & CEO
Rowan spent seven years building distributed data systems at a major technology company before co-founding ShoalFlow. He leads company strategy and business development, drawing on deep relationships across the quantitative investing community. He holds a master's in computer science from Stanford.
Dr. Ananya Rao
Co-Founder & Chief Science Officer
Ananya leads ShoalFlow's research team, which develops the predictive models and analytical frameworks at the heart of the platform. She holds a PhD in applied mathematics from MIT, with a dissertation on information flow in limit order books, and has published over 20 peer-reviewed papers on market microstructure.
Derek Fong
CTO
Derek oversees the engineering organization and the platform's distributed systems architecture. Before ShoalFlow, he was a principal engineer at a streaming data company where he helped design an event-processing framework now used by thousands of companies. He is an Apache Kafka committer.
Clara Johansson
VP of Product
Clara translates research breakthroughs and client feedback into product roadmap priorities. She previously ran product at a Scandinavian data analytics startup that was acquired by a major exchange group. She holds a degree in industrial engineering from Chalmers University of Technology.
Marcus Webb
Head of Client Solutions
Marcus leads the solutions engineering team that helps clients integrate ShoalFlow into their trading and research workflows. A former quant analyst at a New York systematic fund, he brings firsthand understanding of how data drives investment decisions.
